Packing Services London
Packing is where most moves slow down, and where most damage happens. Done properly, it protects your belongings, keeps the move efficient, and means unpacking at the other end is manageable rather than chaotic. Done in a rush the night before, it’s how a glass heirloom ends up in pieces and a mattress ends up in a bin bag.
Apex Moves offers professional packing services across London, either as part of a house or office removal or as a standalone service before your moving date.
What We Offer: Full and Partial Packing
Full Packing Service
We pack everything — every room, every drawer, every shelf. Our crew arrives the day before your move (or the morning of, for smaller properties) and works systematically through the property. Items are wrapped, labelled, and boxed by room, so unpacking is logical rather than a lucky dip.
This is the option for people who are genuinely short of time, who don’t trust themselves with the fragile stuff, or who simply want the whole move handled from start to finish.
Partial Packing Service
You’ve handled the books and the clothes. You’re less confident about the kitchen, the art on the walls, or the cabinet full of things your partner is going to notice if they arrive damaged. We take the rooms or items you’re unsure about and handle those specifically.
Partial packing is also common for people who start packing themselves and run out of time or energy. We can step in at any point.
Fragile Item Packing
Glassware, crockery, ceramics, artwork, mirrors, televisions — anything that breaks if handled carelessly. We pack fragile items with the appropriate materials — tissue paper, bubble wrap, double-boxing for particularly delicate pieces — and mark them clearly for the loading crew.
If you have one particular thing you’re worried about, we can pack just that.
Specialist Item Packing
Some items need more than a box and some bubble wrap. We have experience packing:
- Artwork and framed prints
- Mirrors and large glass items
- Musical instruments
- Antiques and collectibles
- Wine and spirits collections
- High-value electronics
For genuinely irreplaceable items, tell us in advance so we can bring the right materials and approach.
What We Use — Materials and Methods
Professional packing uses the right materials for each item. We don’t pack a crystal glass the same way we pack a paperback.
Double-wall boxes — stronger than standard single-wall boxes, used for heavy items and anything going into the removal van directly rather than a crate.
Tissue paper and packing paper — soft wrapping for glass, ceramics, and items that can’t tolerate abrasion. Not newspaper — newspaper transfers ink.
Bubble wrap — secondary wrap for fragile items, used over tissue paper, not instead of it.
Wardrobe boxes — hanging boxes that allow clothes to travel on their hangers, arriving ready to hang rather than in a crumpled pile.
Dish packs — specialist boxes with internal cell dividers for crockery and glassware, each item packed individually, not stacked.
Stretch wrap — used to bind drawers shut, protect upholstered furniture from marks, and wrap groups of items together without adhesive.
Permanent markers and labels — every box is labelled with contents and destination room. Not just “kitchen” — “kitchen — glasses and mugs, fragile, this way up.”
Why Professional Packing Makes a Difference
The cost of professional packing is almost always less than the cost of a damaged item, a delayed move, or a week of evening unpacking after an exhausting moving day.
Speed on moving day. A properly packed property loads faster. Boxes are structural, stackable, and labelled. The crew isn’t guessing what’s fragile or trying to consolidate half-packed bags.
Damage protection. Most move damage happens during packing, not transit — an under-filled box collapses, a glass gets wrapped too loosely, a drawer gets packed unevenly and splits. Professional packing eliminates the most common causes.
Unpacking is easier. When boxes are labelled by room and contents, you know which box to open first and which can wait. You’re not opening twelve boxes looking for the kettle.
Your time back. Packing a three-bedroom house takes most people three to five full days of evenings and weekends. We do it in a fraction of that time.
Packing as Part of Your Move
Most customers add packing to their house removal booking rather than booking it separately. It makes logistical sense — the same team handles both, the packing happens the day before or the morning of the move, and nothing gets lost in the handover between two different companies.
If you’re booking a house removal with Apex Moves, ask about adding packing when you request your quote. We’ll confirm the additional cost as part of the same quote.
What Our Customers Say
“I’ve moved four times and always done the packing myself. I let Apex do it this time because I didn’t have the time. I wish I’d done it every time. They packed the whole house in half a day and nothing — nothing — was damaged.” — Priya K., Packing Service, Islington
“We had a cabinet full of antique glassware and I was terrified about it. They wrapped each piece individually, labelled every box, and it all arrived perfectly. Worth every penny.” — Hannah W., Fragile Item Packing, Kensington

Packing Services FAQs
What does a professional packing service include?
A professional packing service includes all packing materials — boxes, tissue paper, bubble wrap, tape, labels, and any specialist packaging needed for fragile or unusual items — and the labour to pack your belongings carefully, label everything clearly, and have it ready for the removal crew or moving van. You don’t need to provide anything.
Do you supply all the packing materials?
Yes. All materials are included in the packing service price — you don’t need to source boxes or packing supplies separately. If you’ve already bought boxes and want us to use those, we can, but we’ll supplement with our own materials where needed.
How long does it take to pack a house professionally?
A one-bedroom flat typically takes two to four hours with a professional packing crew. A three-bedroom house takes a full day. A four or five-bedroom property usually requires two packers for a full day, or one packer over two days. We’ll confirm the likely time as part of your quote once we understand the scope of the job.
Can I pack some things myself and have you do the rest?
Yes — partial packing is one of our most common requests. Plenty of people are confident packing their books, clothes, and everyday items but want professional help with the kitchen, the fragile shelves, or the items they’re genuinely nervous about. Tell us what you’d like us to focus on and we’ll scope accordingly.
Do you pack fragile and valuable items?
Yes — fragile and high-value items are handled with particular care. Glassware, crockery, artwork, mirrors, antiques, and electronics are all packed using appropriate materials and methods. If you have something particularly valuable or irreplaceable, mention it when you book so we can bring the right materials and give it the attention it needs.
Is packing available for office moves?
Yes. For office moves, we supply plastic crates rather than cardboard boxes — they’re more durable, stack better in a van, and are easier to handle in a busy office environment. We can pack stationery, files, and general office items, and we label everything to match the floor plan at the destination. IT equipment is handled separately as part of the broader office removal service.
